The successful delivery of a major biopharmaceutical manufacturing expansion in Hillerød, Denmark, completed as part of one of Europe’s most significant advanced biologics developments.
Since November 2023, Oakleaf Contracts has delivered over 30,000m² of high-specification Knauf drywall systems within a complex, fast-track pharmaceutical environment. The project forms part of a landmark cell culture campus which, upon completion in 2026, will rank among Europe’s largest end-to-end CDMO facilities, incorporating 20 x 20,000L bioreactors alongside integrated drug product manufacturing capability.
Works were undertaken across four zones, three levels and two adjoining buildings within a live, highly regulated environment. The scope included 48 alternative wall types designed to meet stringent cleanroom and GMP requirements, together with the coordination of over 5,000 service openings in collaboration with specialist MEP and international trade partners.
Operating within a 24-month programme, Oakleaf successfully achieved over 350 quality inspections while maintaining rigorous compliance, documentation control and health & safety leadership throughout. The project demanded cleanroom-grade precision, intensive QA processes and detailed sequencing across multinational interfaces.
Delivered alongside leading international contractors including Ardmac, Jones Engineering, Firesafe, Mercury, Jakon, Bravida and Zauner, this project further demonstrates Oakleaf Contracts’ capability in complex, regulated pharmaceutical environments at European scale.
