FPDC 2010 awards: Oakleaf have been awarded “Drylining commercial contracts over £1m” in UK & Ireland for works carried out at Dublin T2. Ian Pollitt of the FPDC judging panel commented:

Without doubt the finest piece of drywall I have had the pleasure to judge in 20 years! I have never seen a contract that 200 men have worked on that is such a high standard of work throughout. A 500 metre corridor and 19 aircraft stand, all pure precision…. So many excellent features, everything was special and could not fault a thing! Outstanding

European Award

Gyproc Ireland, supplier of plaster and plasterboard to the Irish construction industry, awarded Oakleaf, Prestigious Accolade at The 8th Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy ceremony held in the National Maritime Museum, London, on Friday June 8th, 2010. Gyproc’s entrant in the Plasterboard category, Terminal 2, Dublin Airport, was named overall category winner. Michael Scullion from Oakleaf received the award from Claude-Alain Tardy, Gypsum Activity President at a gala ceremony in London.

Taking place every two years since its creation in 1998, each trophy in the 6 categories of the international competition aims to recognise and reward the craftsmanship of drywall and plastering contractors, while promoting excellence and innovation in the use of sustainable, lightweight plasterboard systems and plasters.

The range of projects and particularly the winners reflect how high performance plasterboard systems and plasters, combined with skilled workmanship, can provide solutions for high quality, safe, comfortable, modular and sustainable interiors across a variety of applications.

We are delighted that Ireland has been triumphant in an awards event of this scale with a wide-range of outstanding projects entered. It takes an independent jury composed of international panel of Gypsum industry experts to scrutinise the overall performance of the systems and solutions implemented during the course of each project submitted. Gypsum is proud to sponsor the prestigious International Trophy to promote world class skills in drywall technology and plastering and we wish Oakleaf continued success and thank them for their contribution to innovation in this industry.
