Oakleaf are delighted to have won this award on Irelands single largest construction site employer, having worked approximately a half million man hours without a reportable accident to the HSA. Based on our safety performance on this contract we achieved Safe T Cert. accreditation in April 2010 and were awarded Safety Contractor of the Month for May 2010 (Only the second subcontractor on the project to achieve this award). Several of our supervisors / operatives also received safety awards as part of the DAA project safety incentive scheme.

Apart from complying with all statutory and project training requirements (E.g. manual handling, COT’s, Abrasive Wheels and First Aid etc.), additional initiatives were also undertaken. These included ‘Incident and Injury Free Training’ (Laing O’ Rourke) and ‘Behavioural Safety Training’ (DAA). These programs were aimed at enhancing further the safety culture within the company which is a cornerstone of the Oakleaf’s safety management system.
